Celebrating YOU: You are 1 in 10,000,000!

Use the VIA Assessment to reveal your unique strengths

When my daughter was about 10 she wrote this sign for our house:

You are 1 in 10,000,000!

The sentiment was wonderful, even if she didn’t understand just how many people actually exist and have ever existed in this world.

The actual number is 108.2 billion people.

Out of 108.2 billion people, you are beautifully unique and precious.

  • The eyes from which you view this planet,

  • the heart you give and receive love and connection from,

  • the sounds you create,

  • the art you birth,

  • the energy of your dreams and passions …

No one has ever or will ever exist with the same expression as you on this earth.

We become caught up in doing and we forget sometimes that the human that is “doing” all of these things is an absolute miracle.

I want to remind you today that you are a gift. You are a gift to your art, to your community, to your loved ones, to yourself.

Sometimes, lots of times, we don’t feel like a gift. And the messages of the world weigh us down. And we wonder if we really do have anything to offer.

You do. I promise.

But it can help to bolster that belief that you are 1 in 108.2 billion with some tangible evidence. So, today, I invite you to take an assessment that offers clarity on how you’re made. It doesn’t measure your achievements, your talents, what you’re good at, or areas to improve upon. It simply allows you to see how you’re put together.

It gives voice to the things that are most true about you and allows you to fully step into your 1 in 108.2 billion human uniqueness.

Once you take the free assessment, you’ll receive your first five character strengths, which are all you need to work through the journal prompts this week.

Together you will discover (or rediscover) ways in which you can nourish yourself; you'll see how to amplify what comes most naturally to you; and, most importantly, you will reconnect with your humanity.

Today’s Invitation

  • Take the VIA assessment

  • Read through your top five strengths

  • Respond to these journal prompts:

    • Where do I see these strengths showing up in my daily life?

    • How can I amplify this strength? How can I intentionally create space, even small amounts of space, to cultivate this quality in myself?

While this work is different than refining articulation or centering intonation, it will have as much (if not more!) impact on your artistry.

I applaud you for taking time to more deeply know and love yourself. Music can only be as deep and rich as the human who makes it.
