What are students and parents saying?

Maddy O., student

Working with Katie was amazing! Her personality is bright and fun, which makes lessons enjoyable. She's incredibly passionate about what she does and it's very inspiring. She is patent and empathetic which made me feel comfortable in the learning environment. I will never forget my time with Katie because, alongside improving my technique and skills, she vocalized the importance of being kind to myself and helped me build confidence, patience and a good work ethic.

What can you expect from
flute lessons with Katie?

My job is to support each flutist to achieve their own personal goals on their instrument while also building their skills of critical thinking, resiliency, perseverance, organization, and creativity.

Growth Mindset

The private study of music helps students create a growth mindset where the focus lies in their effort (practice) rather than the outcome (audition result).

Encouragement

While holding students to a high standard of personal excellence, I frame my instruction to bolster the confidence of each student.

Goal-Setting

I work with each student to set measurable goals so that their personal work in the practice room is efficient and impactful.

Body Awareness

I focus on posture, breathing, and relaxation as simple but powerful ways to immediately improve a student’s playing.
