After relocating to Cincinnati, Katie began building her studio in the summer of 2023. In just a few short months, band directors around Cincinnati have already welcomed Katie into their programs.

​

Currently, Katie is on the faculty of the Cincinnati Jazz Academy - an El Systema inspired program led by Dr. Isadore Rudnick that provides students in Cincinnati Public Schools free access to a world class jazz education for FREE. She is also on the private lesson faculty at Walnut Hills High School and the Forest Hills School District.

To support you and your students, Katie offers all Cincinnati band programs a FREE DAY of workshops.

Katie will develop a class based on the needs of your students. Past presentations have included:

  • Tone Development

  • Intonation Support

  • Dynamics and Musicianship

  • Technique: 3rd register fingerings, double tonguing, and scales

  • Chamber Music and Sight Reading

About Katie Frisco

​

After receiving her BM and MM in Flute Performance from Eastman School of Music, Katie her teaching career in the fertile musical landscape of Texas. For four years she worked in the band rooms of West Texas, soaking up their teaching methodology, their standards of achievement, and their systems that produce some of the best musicians in the country. She simultaneously held the Principal Flute position of the West Texas Symphony and was on the faculty at Angelo State University. 

​

Over the last 20 years, Katie has lived all over our country  - from Texas to Florida to the Midwest - and has both learned from and supported the music educators in each of those communities. She has built thriving studios where the focus has been on gently unlocking the potential within each flutist. She leads with love, encouragement, and affection while also holding students to a high standard.
